About Us
The Ireland Australia Association was founded in 1981 and our mission is to promote, strengthen and celebrate the Irish Australian community in Ireland through social, cultural and sporting events.

Meet the Committee
The association is run by a dedicated group of volunteers that love Ireland and their home country, Australia. If you'd like to learn more about us, or if you'd like to join the committee, email info@irelandaustralia.ie

Matt McKerrow
President
Hailing from Northern NSW, Matt first came to Ireland to take up the role as CEO of Triathlon Ireland nearly 15 years ago. After marrying an Irish lass, a stint living in New Zealand, and welcoming twins, Matt now calls Greystones home.
Matt works as a consultant in the sport and not for profit sector – and loves the forest and mountain trails of Co. Wicklow but misses Tweed-Byron beaches, live Aussie music, and the ability to readily buy Bonds undies, BBQ shapes and Kraft peanut butter.

Malcolm Clancy
Vice President
Born in Albany, Western Australian, Malcolm is a proud sandgroper who has been living in Dublin with his beautiful Irish wife. He works in travel and tourism and loves the ease with which he can explore the world from Dublin as his home base.

Michael Harrison
Treasurer
I'm from Goulburn, NSW and I live and breathe Rugby. What else do you need to know?

Summer Lynch
Secretary
I'm a Mallee girl from Victoria. As such, I have AFL running through my veins; my blood type is Collingwood Feral.
I live in Dublin with my Corkonian hubby, and 2 teenagers with Irish names, but Aussie accents. I run a gorgeous Airbnb property "Portside" (in Ballycotton, Co. Cork) while studying part time. I enjoy creative pursuits such as music and writing, and I love connecting with other Aussies and finding out about people in general! I regularly crave Aussie delicacies (meat pie, Cherry Ripe, BBQ Shapes, Allens lollies, Aussie Fish and Chips), but I mostly miss my family.
.....Oh, and a proper clothes line (complete with drying weather).

Born & raised for the most part in Sydney to Irish parents, I’m now back living in Dublin with my Australian husband.
I work in marketing & advertising, and have a real interest in music and travel. I have a newfound appreciation for Australia being overseas, and I miss good sunscreen & lemon, lime and bitters from the pub.

Born in Sydney to Irish parents, I grew up doing Irish Dancing and also playing Netball. I’ve spent a lot of my life travelling back and forth to Ireland, and with 52 first cousins in Ireland, I’m thrilled to now be based in Dublin and back to my Irish roots.
With a Mother from Armagh and a Dad from Louth, I love the GAA, and also the Parramatta Eels.
I work in radio across Ireland, and love all things live music and live sport.
I always love hearing an Aussie accent around town, and I’m delighted to be on the committee and bring the Aussies together.

I grew up in Castlemaine, Victoria with close ties to Geelong also. I’m a big Geelong Cats fan and really miss going to see live games. I also miss dim sims and barbecue shapes and watching lightning storms slowly arrive from the horizon off the ocean after a week of hot summer sun.
I’ve been in Ireland permanently since marrying my wife Iseult in 2013 and before that had been a resident for a few years between 2004 and 2008 also.
I live in Wicklow with Iseult and our 4 kids. It’s a fantastic place to raise a family and I love the strong community vibe. I also love Guinness, Bar an Uisce whiskey and a good trad session in a country pub.

I was born & raised in Canberra, moving to Dublin during COVID in 2021 to work for Cricket Ireland.
The best part about living in Ireland is the ability to travel to experience different cultures and languages across Europe as well as the endless musical acts that visit.
The things I miss the most is being involved in my local community back home, time spent in and around Newcastle, my second home and endless road trips to support the mighty Cronulla Sharks.
